By a rescript of January 9,1852, his Holiness
Pius IX granted and indulgence of 100 days to all the faithful who recite with a contrite
heart this little chaplet. A plenary indulgence may be obtained by hose who recite it
deity for a month, to be obtained on the day of confession and communion, with the usual
prayers being said or the intentions of His Holiness. The same indulgences were made
applicable to the souls in Purgatory by a rescript of January 10, 1854.
Method of recitation:
In the name of the Father, and of he Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O God, come to my aid; O Lord make haste to help me. I thank Thee, O eternal Father
because of Thy power, Thou didst preserve Mary Thy most Blessed Daughter from the stain of
original sin.
On the single bead say, "Our Father, etc:' Then on the four small beads say the
"Hail Mary", adding after each, "Blessed be the pure, holy and immaculate
conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary."I thank Thee, O eternal son,
because of Thy wisdom thou didst preserve, Mary Thy most Blessed Mother from the stain of
original sin.
Then, an "Our Father" and four "Hail Marys" as before.
I thank Thee, O Holy Spirit, because by Thy love thou didst preserve Mary, Thy most
Blessed spouse from the stain of original sin.
"Our Father' and four "Hail Marys' as above.
Conclude with the "Glory be to the Father, etc." In honor of the purity
of Saint Joseph. |
