Anna Belle Marin
Anna Belle Marin, Ph.D, MA Counseling
Grotto Counseling Center Coordinator
I believe our natural state is one of physical, mental, and spiritual wholeness and balance. Life events can bring us out of alignment with our true selves and authentic nature. I see the ultimate goal in therapy is to help you gain skills to realign yourself to your center, to your environment and others. I offer support for:
- mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety
- stress and life adjustments,
- improving self image and confidence,
- enhancing relationships through better communication.
Therapy approaches I use include:
- self psychology,
- present-centered awareness/mindfulness,
- body-centered awareness including Somatic Experiencing®
- psychoanalytic theory, depth psychology, including sand tray therapy family systems
- Prepare-Enrich Inventory for marriage preparation and couples counseling.
I draw from a wealth of life experience as a yoga teacher, dancer, research scientist and world traveler, as well as a strong education to serve clients. I hold the following degrees and certifications:
- MA degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on marriage and family therapy and depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, Carpinteria, CA
- Ph.D. in Food Science with a minor in Psychology from Cornell U., Ithaca, NY.
- Registered Intern # 1601 with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists
- Intermediate Level Somatic Experiencing® practitioner, a modality used for helping people heal from trauma,
- Prepare-Enrich facilitator for marriage preparation and couples counseling
I look forward to supporting you on your life journey.
