The Gift of Counseling – a path to a better life

The Grotto Counseling Center provides professional counseling designed to help people identify and implement changes to improve their lives. As a nonprofit, The Grotto Counseling Center strives to make therapy services available and affordable to everyone.

The Grotto Counseling Center offers a sliding scale for therapy services for those without insurance and who are experiencing financial difficulties. The sliding scale fee is based on household monthly take-home income and the number of dependents in the household.

During these difficult economic times, we have an increased number of people seeking counseling who have lost their jobs, have no insurance, or may have no monthly income at all. This financial stress impacts individuals and their families. Often they cannot afford counseling, even at minimal fees, when they need it the most. A gift of support for counseling can help an individual, couple or family to:

improve their ability to recognize problems, to identify and evaluate reasonable options
to learn important things about themselves including their values and integrity
to take action(s) in a manner consistent with their integrity
to acquire helpful life skills

The Grotto counselors recognize an individal’s quality of life is a complex function of mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social dimensions. We respectfully meet people where they are in their personal growth and work to assist them move toward normal, healthy development with the ultimate goal of improving their life functioning.
