Tour The Grotto
Make the most of your group’s visit to The Grotto and schedule a tour. We offer a peaceful break for groups of many varieties and sizes ranging from scared pilgrimages to casual tours.
Schedule your visit at least 3 days in advance, and a volunteer tour guide will be arranged to greet you, give your group a history of The Grotto and a personalized tour of the lower level and upper gardens. Minimum group size for tour guides is 8 visitors.
The Grotto offers a spectacular natural gallery in the woods, with more than 100 beautifully sculpted statues and shrines nestled among towering first and flower-lined pathways. The dramatic Cliffside presence, award-winning architecture and spectacular views of the Cascade Mountains offer inspiration for all who visit this Sanctuary
There is no admission charge to see the gardens and structures on the lower level of The Grotto. The lower level includes, The Grotto, Stations of the Cross, The Chapel of Mary as well as our gift shop and visitor complex.
As there are no walking paths to the upper gardens. To visit the upper level each visitor must purchase an elevator token. Tokens can be purchased at the Welcome Center or the Visitor Complex. Token prices are $3.50 for ages 12-64 and $2.50 for ages 6-11 or seniors over 65. Children under 5 are free.
Daytime tours of the grounds are offered year-round. The Grotto is fully accessible, and there are a limited number of wheelchairs available for use. Let the tour coordinator know in advance if you want to reserve one. The parking lot located off Sandy Blvd. and 85th offers ample parking plus special stalls for tour buses.
